The all-female star-studded cast of Shudder’s new witchy horror includes Lili Reinhart (Riverdale), Lola Tung (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill HouseYou), and Alexandra Shipp (Anyone but You). Forbidden Fruits follows Free Eden employee Apple (Reinhart), who leads a witchy cult at the mall with Cherry (Pedretti) and Fig (Shipp) at the mall. However, tensions are beginning to rise as the new entry, Pumpkin (Tung), challenges Apple’s authority as the group faces dire repercussions.

The new female-led horror has debuted to an impressive 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a big achievement for the cast and its director, Meredith Alloway. Forbidden Fruits is also Tung’s first major role since the finale of the highly successful Prime Video adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel series titled The Summer I Turned Pretty. Reviews for the comedy-horror state that the movie has the “potential to be a cult classic” and it “keeps you under its spell.”

Reinhart was also one of the leads for another teen drama for The CW titled Riverdale, where she played Betty Cooper for seven seasons. The actress has also starred in Look Both WaysChemical Hearts, and will be starring as the female lead in an adaptation of the book The Love Hypothesis. Pedretti has also had an extremely successful career, especially in the horror genre, with roles in titles such as YouThe Haunting of Hill House, and The Haunting of Bly Manor.

Shipp is known for appearing in some big titles such as Tick, Tick… Boom!BarbieLove, Simon, and Straight Outta Compton. Shipp’s highest Rotten Tomatoes-rated project is Love, Simon, which has a near-perfect rating of 92%. However, her lowest-rated movie is Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, which is rated at 21%.
