Geoff Lee
Drawing on his background as a creative producer, Geoff Lee focuses his legal practice on facilitating each client’s vision by providing them with the legal tools to actualize their ideas for mediums of all types. Lee serves as general counsel for companies such as Scout Productions, Skydance Sports, The Comedy Store, Boardwalk Pictures, Dev Patel’s Minor Realm, Tan France’s French Tuck Media and Cold Iron Pictures, negotiating lucrative set-up deals for their large-scale productions. As production counsel, Lee specializes in high profile productions such as “Welcome to Wrexham”, “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night”, and “America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys,” the upcoming definitive docuseries on Jerry Jones and the 1990’s Dallas Cowboys.
Outside of production legal, Lee focuses on securing strategic branding opportunities between the consumer products and film/television industries, representing clients such as Imagine Brands and properties such as “Chef’s Table” and “Queer Eye.” As part of Lee’s brands practice, he focuses on negotiating partnerships between various brands and producers to create lifestyle centric media with elevated commercial and merchandising opportunities.
Lee was recently recognized by the Los Angeles Times as a Legal Visionary and by Variety as one of “Hollywood’s New Leaders of 2022.” He also represented Boardwalk Pictures alongside Founder & Managing Partner Elsa Ramo in Boardwalk’s sale of a minority interest to Shamrock Capital.
In 2017, Lee’s article “Go Fund Yourself: Navigating SEC Crowdfunding Regulations to Finance Feature Films” was published in the inaugural issue of Georgetown University’s Entertainment and Media Alliance Law Review.
