Since joining the Firm in 2010, Michelle Chang has played a key role in launching and leading RAMO’s non-fiction initiative. Under her guidance, the department has grown significantly, representing high-profile clients such as Boardwalk Pictures (Chef’s TableAmerica’s Sweethearts), Scout Productions (Queer Eye), and Campfire Studios (The Way Down, The Money Game). In addition to her work with these industry leaders, Chang provides comprehensive business and legal affairs services to clients including The Solution Entertainment Group, Hasan Minhaj’s 186K Films, Tremolo Productions, and Abu Dhabi-based Image Nation. As Managing Partner, Chang co-leads the Firm with Elsa Ramo, helping to oversee its wide-ranging client base and strategically adapting the Firm’s services to meet the evolving demands of an increasingly content-driven industry. 

Chang has been involved in financing, production, and distribution legal matters as well as serving as general counsel for a wide range of notable projects. Her work with Boardwalk Pictures includes upcoming titles like Paul American (2025, Max), The Clubhouse: A Year with Red Sox (2025, Netflix), and The Later Daters (2024, Netflix), along with previously acclaimed series such as The Big Brunch (2022, Max), Welcome to Wrexham (FX), We Need to Talk About Cosby (2022 Sundance, Showtime), Val (2021 Cannes), The Show (2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show), Men in Kilts (Showtime), The Goop Lab (Netflix), Cheer (Netflix, Emmy Award Winner), We Are Freestyle Love Supreme (2020 Sundance), The Black GodfatherLast Chance U, and Chef’s Table. Recent and ongoing projects include America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (Netflix) and Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE (Netflix). 

With Campfire, Chang has supported the production of documentaries such as The Money Game (2024, Amazon), The Menendez Brothers (2024, Netflix), Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food (2023 Tribeca), Rudy! A Documusical (2022 Tribeca), TikTok, Boom. (2022 Sundance), The Way Down (Max), A Glitch in the Matrix (2021 Sundance), and WeWork (2021 SXSW). Other projects include the podcast Abuse of PowerThe Most Dangerous Animal of All (FX), and Heaven’s Gate: The Cult of Cults (Max). 

Her legal work for The Solution Entertainment Group includes films such as Blacklight (2022), Honest Thief (2021), Killerman (2019), and Line of Duty (2019). For Wild Canary, Chang has provided legal counsel on Disney Junior shows including The Chicken SquadMira, Royal DetectiveThe RocketeerPuppy Dog Pals, and Disney Junior’s Ariel (2024). 

In partnership with Image Nation, she has worked on titles like Late Night with the DevilWatcher (2022 Sundance), Scales (2020 SXSW), and Urban Legends (StarzPlay). Her production legal work also includes critically acclaimed films such as In the Summers (2024 Sundance), The Adults (2023 Tribeca), Wildflower (2022 TIFF), V/H/S 99 (2022 TIFF), Descendant (2022 Sundance Special Jury Award), The Fallout (2021 SXSW Grand Jury Winner), Holler (2020 SXSW), Wander (2019), Killerman (2019), and Halston (2019). 

Chang’s achievements have been widely recognized in the industry. She has been featured repeatedly in Variety’s Legal Impact Report (2020–2025) and Dealmakers Impact Report (2020–2023), including the 2021 spotlight on top negotiators behind major deals. She was also named one of the “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys” by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2022. 

She is an active member of Professional Entertainment Female Attorneys (PEFA) and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. Chang is admitted to practice law in the State of California. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also completed a judicial internship with the U.S. District Court for the Central District.
